About "Of Mice and Men"

Serendipity Theatre Company is proud to present a rare opportunity to see John Steinbeck's award winning stage adaptation of his novel ‘Of Mice and Men'.

‘Of Mice And Men' is a classic tale of two friends who discover the underside of the American Dream.

The play is set in the Salinas Valley in California during the Great Depression of the 1930's. George and Lennie are two migrant farm workers who share a dream of owning their own small farm. Their extraordinary friendship distinguishes them from other hopeless and lonely migrant workers but is tested to its limits when their dream is shattered when Lennie unwittingly kills the wife of the farm boss's son .

George and Lennie are two innocents whose dream conflicts with the realities of a world dominated by materialism, greed, violence and racism. The great friendship they share does not prove sufficient to allow them to realize their dream and they eventually succumb to forces beyond their control.

This warm and moving story has a lasting fascination and appeal and explores the true nature of friendship. Please join us for a compelling piece of theatre.
