A new play by Kate Griffin
Directed by Ivan Cutting
Designed by Charlie Cridlan
For fifty years, Gone for a Burton meant the annual migration of young labourers from East Anglia to Burton -on-Trent to do the malting for the breweries. They worked hard, played hard and at Christmas always brought their mums home a teapot from The Potteries.
Then one lad brought home a baby. |

We Didnt Mean To Go To Sea |
|
Thursday 3 July 2008 - Saturday 2 August 2008
From the Book by Arthur Ransome
Adapted for the stage by Nick Wood
Fresh from their adventures in Swallows and Amazons, Susan, John, Titty and Roger take on the challenges of the tides, mudflats and pirates in the estuaries of the East Coast.
When the children are invited aboard The Goblin at Pin Mill, they have no idea that their world is about to become a larger, scarier place.
Left alone in charge by a twist of fate, the children have to battle their own inner demons as well as the elements in this stirring Arthur Ransome story where the adventure is all for real, and the games of youth become a fight for survival on the open sea.
All tickets £1 off when you book before June 1st! |

Amateur Shows

Wednesday 21 May 2008 - Saturday 24 May 2008
Two Rivers Theatre Company presents an Amateur Production by kind permission of Samuel French.
Faced with a family gathering, world-weary Stephen Febble does his best to be difficult. When his daughter, her dreary husband Alan, their precocious child and - not least - the dog come to stay for the weekend it's enough to make him reach for the whisky, and for the sarcasm. The climax arrives on Saturday night when his patient wife Virginia has laid on a dinner party and the chiropodist comes too.
In his first stage play, The Weekend , Michael Palin takes a look at family values with black humour. |
